Naked Poetry II

When you see darkness
You will certainly find
Like the man that saw
tomorrow todaythat
light is a better alternative.

When you sit the seat of kings
You will obviously find
Like the emblem on the chest
of an exalted altarthat
diligence drove you there.

When you soar on wealths wings
You will undoubtedly find
Like the rich fool without
tomorrow's quest
never is wealth glory.

When you finally write a book
You will glaringly find
Like the cat that shrieked without
a responsethat
never is writing for fame.

When you ask patriotic questions
You will hopefully find
Like the martyr on the altar
without recognition
true nationalists are not heard.

Lastly,

When you stand before Heaven
You will joyfully find
Like the quiet Lazarus without
cover for his headthat
God can see through you.

Suffering and Smiling

Like the Rocks
Unabated by the roaring waves
With courage stiff as iron
A people resolute, patient and bearing
Have survived ugly tides.

Empty praises for the masses
Peasants working and paying taxes
The money vanishing with no traces
What a pity for the people
Patient and bearing, suffering and smiling.

"E go better" We console ourselves
A herd starving in the green
Suffering in the midst of plenty yet smiling
Zzzzzzzzzzz Government sleeps on
Futureless people languish.

O what a pity for the people
She calls herself "Great"
The "Giant of Africa"
O God save us from ourselves
And heal our land.

Time has past, things have changed

Few hours passed mid-day
Waking from rest we call "siesta",
Indeed I woke to see the world from
What it used to be both in years
and time I once existed.

Lonely my soul prefered to be
While my ma worrieth to know,
As she moves weird like sheds-land pony,
Melancholy marked me for her own and
Remindeth me of time above time,
days above days and ages above.

When night and day are one in sight of man,
And man in his context maintaineth naturalness.
As trees gather in my hood and profered figs as shelter
And cubs closest to me in heart than man like myself

Remindeth me of time,beast secures company
In my hearth and home than wilderness today.
Time the cold wave comes to whisper a morrows vision,
And lives us with hope then allays our fears and dread.

A plowman comes and gives to us his sweat from distance unknown
and uncertain, yet in his cheerfulness, smiles to us as if the world and time
was the celestial we talk of this day.

How myself with cubs and birds chase the wind,
While to us the sun smiles as if to tell us the earth will never change,
As our hearts are surrounded by every blade of grass,every flower
and every tree.

I say of the time the moon set to offer light of light
and then cause the night to set and shine brighter than day.
In our mood, trasparency maintains stillness and cause us
not to compromise tomorrow.

As I recover to reality to answer my sir's call, I gaze through the window frame,
I see the leas tossing their heads to and fro,
As if to agree with me that indeed time, things and ways of nature has changed.

Would every soul see the conspicous evidence of change in natural look
of the cloud,of the lea,sound of the wind,smile of the sun and change
in colour of the rainbow as they boldeth no more....

Trust

Trust takes a man up;

Trust shatters his heart;

Trust brings about a strong bond of friendship;

Trust brings about enemity;

Trust no man for he can disapoint you at anytime;

Trust no man for he can give you hypertension;

Trust no man for he can lead you to madness;

Trust no man for he can tempt you to suicide;

Trust no man for he can tempt you to murder;

Rather,

Trust in God who knows all about your life;

And,

He will not betray you on no account even if you turn your back.

The one

No rush though I need your touch
I won't rush your heart
Until you feel on solid ground
Until your strength is found, girl

I'll fill those canyons in your soul
Like a river lead you home
And I'll walk a step behind
In the shadows so you shine
Just ask it will be done
And I will prove my love
Until you're sure that I'm "the one"

Somebody else was here before
He treated you unkind
And broken wings need time to heal
Before a heart can fly, girl

I'll fill those canyons in your soul
Like a river lead you home
And I'll walk a step behind
In the shadows so you shine
Just ask it will be done
And I will prove my love
Until you're sure that I'm "the one"

Trust in me and you'll find a heart so true
All I want to do is give the best of me to you
And stand beside you

Just ask it will be done
And I will prove my love
Until you're sure that I'm "the one"

The quitter

Abuse of yesterday
unstrategic about today
abstract of tomorrow
fallible whether processed or not.

Faithless on the margin
debased at radom
unprecedented of the past
ravel in nature

Unscripted in the file
at variance with truth
a vector of past injury
never rise to colour

Slaken in fore pursuit
forlone hope, in misery
icy in sight
sour in taste

Vulnerable in battle
allign in judgment
aimless in discovery
the qitter, the case.

Agbada and Our Virgins

Do we still have any virgins left
Who was not born still, blind and bone-deaf?
Whose virtue can excercise thrift
When Naira is flaunted by the agbada-clad thief?

Can that virgin resist the thief in agbada
Who rides in long trains of tints and sirens,
Whose tongue is spiced with the breath mints of Naira,
And ready to blaze treasures like fire fountains?

When our virgins were raped by Khaki
We shed our blood to put Agbada in his place
Now our virgins are defiled with our own money
By Agbada who hid his khaki under a solemn face.

Now, should we watch the virgins of our people
Defiled by Agbada(who extorted our trust)
Not for the good of the people- but for evil-
A selfish ritual to retain khaki-power at all cost?
