He Is Risen
He is risen,
kingdoms of darkness
saw his light and fled.
He is risen,
mountains skipped at
his glorious presence.
He is risen
to set captives free
Burdens are less-heavy
this season of resurrection.
Transformation takes place
as he adorn us with a smile
just because he is risen
Hallelujah, for our saviour
is risen.
I am free today
Because I embraced
the victory of his rising.

I Am A Voice
I'm a voice,
a desperate voice,
a gong creviced
by fragmented hope
I'm a voice
a harassed voice,
a cymbal wounded
by repeated trashing
I'm a voice,
a forsaken voice
a drum, whose beat is drowned
I say, I'm a voice,
not an echo...
I sing of looted treasures
I drum of bruised dreams
I sing of trampled hopes
I sing of ravished homes
I sing of denied mandates
I'll make a melody,
a melody to sear their
dead conscience.

I Lament
I lament not for those
felled through felonious bullets,
I cry not for those mangled
serated with tattoes of pain.
I weep not for those despatched
through sappy fingers of death
I moan not for ants
gobbled up by elephants.
...for their blood pacifies
our raging anger.
Perhaps,
I will lament
our despoiled vaults -
and our famished bodies.

I Love Your Smile
I love your piercing smile
that light my darkness,
you the reigning queen
of my black race
I love the whispering
tone of your voice;
your voice that caress
my harassed soul
The tum-tum bounce
of your buttocks
petrify my gaze,
your beauty makes
me regale in dance
A dialogue of elated songs
ensued from our eyes
When our looks lock
we melt in laughter
that echo to awaken
something deep in us two
I love to be drowned
In your grip,
I love to walk the streets
holding your hands.

I'v Been Waiting
It's long you left
yet, I embrace
every moment
we shared together
It's long you left
yet those smiles on your face
refuse to go
from my memory
I see those dimples
that mark you out
from the parade of beauties
like a spot of white
on a red wall
I've been waiting
all day long, waiting
for you to come
wipe away my tears
Maybe I was weak for your rage
Maybe I loved you less
Maybe I neglected you
Maybe I behaved criminally
loving you so well

Lamentation of A Nigerian
Suffering and smiling
yes, that's what
I am doing now.
I must not look dejected
In the face of hunger.
When retrenched, I came home silently
Bearing my fate with hope,
I know the dust will settle.
My father's kiosk
Was bulldozed off the streets
He bore his fate with bold face
My mother suffered same agony
A small eatry of hers was
Pummelled to the ground.
Our source of daily bread is battered
what alternative for our hungry stomach
Our leader asked my hand in the farm,
But, am hungry, angry
And gnashing my teeth in pains.
This is a poem about the goings on in Nigeria. Where the people in power are oppressing the down trodden.

Life Under The Bridge
Daily, putrid smell
Blocks my nostrils
Squalid beggars compete,
Rummaging the dustbins
In search of bread
Life under the bridge
A slow life
Laced with hunger
Amidst plenty
Our bed,
A bug-infested carton
Under the bridge
Under the cover of darkness
The rich seek love -
Love in dementia
They seek love to fulfill a rite
To indulge a mad mistress
to enhance bloody access to wealth
It is madness
Madness willfully accepted
Sanity, entangled indecency
Life under the bridge...
A pot-pourri.

Lonely Night
The day is lonely
the night long, cold
and empty without you
Sleep slipped away yesternight
because I swan in thoughts of you.
Sleep simply walked away
because you're far away
It's painful sitting here all alone
I glance each time at the door
desiring to see your replica
walk in to ease my lonesome night
I sit all night,
waiting to hear your luscious voice
fill my empty night
Here I am, all alone
in profound thought
wishing you come
to my warn embrace.

Love Makes A Radiant Entrance
As seas bow to nature,
And skies turn blue,
Love makes a radiant entrance
Like a fresh morning dew.
As rain drops wet the earth,
And farmers think of harvest
Love walks in boldly,
sweeping my senses.
Let me walk you round,
Let me hold your hand,
Let me embrace your essence,
Let me entwine you in estacy.
As mountains clap,
And valleys rise up,
Love tugs my heart,
Like guitar strings.
May our love produce bouquet
full of fragrances.
