Memorable Laughter
A decade filled with moonshine,
still counting bouquet-ful
of frragrant roses rippen
in the womb of bliss.
Like fresh morning dew-drops,
your love bud anew,
made fertile by your warmness.
A decade filled with moonshine,
still counting memorable laughters
that wiped away dark clouds -
harbinger of fruitful rains.
Your beauty awestruck me,
your face, a moon beam
radiating golden rays
that wipe away sadness.
I'll bow at your love-embalmed feet,
I'll dance with measured frenzy
as we gleefully celebrate
our first cut of ecstasy.
This poem is about our marriage of over ten years with lovely Limanya.A sweet lady with a charming character.
She is beautiful inside and outside.

A Love So Sure
Bruised, and battered for my sake,
All my sins on calvary tree bore,
Burdens of darkness weighed tons on him.
In my stead, he endured lashes,
In my place, he withstood pains;
Torns of cruelty tore his flesh -
His flesh so pure received lacerations.
He was bruised,
He was battered,
To restore my dignity,
He swapped his weakness
And gave me ability.
Your love for my soul,
Your love for my well-being,
Pushed, and swayed your decision.
A love so sure,
A love so deep,
A love so unfathomable,
gave me acess to your bounties.
I see your compassion
As an insignia for my freedom.

In Your Eyes
I see through your innocence,
A plethora of change
As you cry that first day.
I see in your eyes,
a vision of a flowing ocean
carrying ship loads of gifts.
In your eyes of sunshine,
brigandage melt like wax,
mountains turn to pebbles.
In your eyes, I see moon beam
shinning brighter, glowing
through dark spots,
like a fresh-lit bush fire.
In your eyes, I see hope strong,
I see favour, wealth
make return journey
Your eyes, harbinger of greatness
wiping away years of sorrows,
I see change in your eyes,
my little girl...
This is dedicated to my little girl on her 4th birthday. UDOCHI, great was the day you came into this earth!Your birth heralded a hope so positive that it could be touched.

Am Not A Fool
I know am not a fool,
Though born on a fool's day
But, I do foolish things
with my pen sometimes.
I weave wise words,
I stoke a fire,
I also spark a light...
Often, I write stupid things
that folks say are meaningful,
deep down, I know
am not a fool,
though my first tear drops
streamed down my face
on a fool's day.
I know am not a fool
yet, I think foolish things sometimes...
a world devoid of ism
a world free from poverty
a universe empty of deceits
a world without power mongers
I know, indeed am not a fool,
am a wise man
that shout against inertia.
I wrote this poem while thinking over my birth date. Ironically, I was born on the 1st day of April. People call it April Fool's Day. What do you say?
This poem says it all.....

Stunted Dream
Hali married at thirteen,
To a man twice her father's age.
Her scholarship dread stunted,
As her parents espoused her.
She was encapsuled in beauty.
At less than fourteen,
Hali got pregnant,
Worry enwrapped her,
Because she was naive;
A narrow pelvis, result of diagnosis.
Nine awful months later,
A baby laboured, but got stuck
In the narrow passage.
Hali received life scaring laceration
A tear that brought fear.
Hali became ill,
Bed-ridden for several months
With soaking her under
The cut refused to heal.
Today, Hali's beauty
Is like a torn cloth
Hung on a disused line,
Her life a pillage,
A victim of teenage marriage.
The issue of marrying out teenagers in Nigeria is becoming astronomic. I just decided to bring to the public to see for themselves whether it is fair to the young being given out in marriage.

Foot -Steps
I am your brother,
friend and lover,
umblical cords entwined.
I cherish smiles
that froth from faces
I will embrace peacocks
that regal as show piece
I will desire damsels
whose bosoms swing
only as exhibits.
None have smoothered my heart
like the elegance of your walk
- the koi, koi heave from
my damsel's foot-steps.

For Limanya - A Toast
My love for you grows daily
Like fresh flower in summer.
Sweet is memories we share
Sweeter is our future together
Therefore,
I say,
I love you dearly.

Liberated By Him
Nothing will change my faith,
You are the author of life,
Maker of entire heavens,
Creator of the earth.
Your love liberated me,
You shine each day,
Your kindness beyond me,
You're all that I need.
Nothing will change my faith,
You produce comfort,
In times of sadness,
And light in darkness.
You're my everything,
the song that I sing,
my laughter in sorrow,
my brighter tomorrow.
Nothing will change my faith
In you y trust rests
Nothing will change my confidence
In you there's full assurance.

Penury Amidst Plenty
We decimate everyday
amidst affluence -
wealth thrown about
at launching halls.
We are cajoled to kneel
where they beg us tarry
to watch our fingers burn
We decimate everyday
amidst abundance,
yet tax collectors' vaults
flourish with crispy notes
We wait for vultures
to come swoop our carcasses,
we wait for thunder knuckles
to come rip-off our heads
We wither in penury amidst plenty
In a land lush and green
that now lay waste, debased.

Life II
Life is a battle field,
a ceaseless war front
replete with blood.
Every careless step
takes a toll
that boomerangs.
Life is like dew-drops
that retreats at torrid
sunshine.
Life is unfair to realities;
it is like dreams before
day breaks...
Life a package
that's not hidden.
