To those who dine on murder
And characterize their sojourn by dead bodies I say that education Will shape the rhyme of the innocent I say that heart and head Meet in the battle front of education And in existence a day has never been conceived When somewhere a man doesn’t leave ignorance I say that educations storm Will crush ferocious leaders and ignorance And on educated lips Our hopes and freedom lies.

To an african virgin
Pure African beauty
The symbol of Africa’s uniqueness
Your victory dance signals unity
And reveals the nakedness of joy
In hide
You dance your golden virgin dance
And await your bridal night
When your pride, though kept since childhood Would be shared with another And the gnashing of teeth directed to God Would be shot at you
In your steadfastness
Arrows would be shot at you
But you would become the ideal of all
And the voice of the ancient
Pride of Africa
When your virgin dance approaches
The rhythm inside of me is awakened
And the crowns of the wigs of learning cover me As together heaven and I, follow your steps
