Choose either...
That beautiful house
Or the ugly one.
The road to the former
Is smooth and decorated,
Its outer wall is painted
With glittering gold and diamond
Its surroundings filled with
Varieties of fruits of
Your desire
To pinch and eat without caution
The path to the latter
Is rough and thorny
Full of hurdles and spines
One must walk with care
Tiptoe and creep with care
To reach the house I dare
The outer wall is black
It is painted blunt
As attractive as death
You are now asked to choose
Which will you afford to lose?
IF I am asked to choose
I will take the latter, yes!
The repulsive one

Godfatherism: Menace to Democracy
As tick sucks blood
As weeds inhibits crops
As AIDS wanes body
So godfatherism kills
Nigerian democracy
It anchors it form progressing
By being hurdle to its success
It perpetuates everywhere
At every stage of polity
A catastrophe it turns to be
With a godfather aside
Values and merits matter less
Even if one is a camel renowned
For its patience, or a dove in terms
Of gentleness, even if his justice and
Wisdom exceeds that of King Solomon
If he does not have a ‘godfather’ he
Might end up hanging around
We must turn up en masse
We must do all the sacrifices
We must spare no effort
To dwindle the vandals
Of our democracy
Democracy must be saved!

Weeping the elections
There is a wail for things are not well
At my back there is alarming bark
All I see are traitors and penned thieves
Protected by armed men
Amidst euphoria of an extravaganza
At a colourful swearing-in ceremony bolshie’s
Here is a sad looking man
Lamenting with a weeping heart
"Why are you depressed and glum?"
"We are mourning this morning" he said
"We are stripped of our birth right"
The freedom to vote our leaders
Is forfeited by our infamous rulers…
"To implant the puppets they
Can control like electronic robots
Nay! We are hoodwinked and robbed
By the barbarism of this Baba-rism
An affluent is now relegated to a beggar
Yesterday an owner and today a scapegoat
Again a mandate is stolen from us!
With the use of machineries
Far from our reach…the Police and the
Independent Notorious Executors of Con
So the conspiracy is done
So the mandate is stolen
So the scam unveiled
Amidst frowns and scorn
Amidst worldwide disdain
Amidst scowls and condemn"

The Queen
For my proudly, priceless, pretty, princesss
I’m idle and my thought
goes to you.
When asleep
your beautiful face
smiles in my dreams.
As bonfire set on cotton,
as spring water fills valleys,
your love invaded
my mind.
When I close my eyes,
I only see your figure;
your golden skin,
your black shiny hair,
your arousing eyes –
Your enticing structure.
When I’m solitary,
I hear
your nice voice
whispering to me
like sound of flute.
I feel
your hands
caressing me
like a mother lulling
her baby.

Ode to Pen
Drippings droplets
Of your silvery saliva
Your continual continuous
Tillage on paper
Is what holds this world firm.
You caged in everything
Of yesterday for us and for
The coming tomorrow.
At the beginning you were
And today you are
And you will remain after
Tomorrow.
Without the pen and writing
A learned is nothing
The history is perished
Nothing can be cherished
If I would be tame for long time
With only you in my domain
I would still live a life
Let me have the pen then
I would write anywhere-
On papers, leaves, and bone
And even on my palm
Pen binds the world
Pen calms the world
Pen hoards the words
Pen to appease
Pen to appeal
Pen to offend
Pen for trouble
Pen for violence
Pen for peace
Pen, tell me pen
Would the world remain
The way it is without you?

The Untold
Unlike flower
That scents for good
Or gold that gleams
And fades never,
Untold is dark
Ugly as ghost
Odour it does
Unpleased of course
Blunt it is
That shines never
I have, you have
He has, she too
I do, you do
He does I bet
She does also
Can’t you get me?
We do, we say
But aloof we remain
It goes UNTOLD.

Borrow me your ears
Borrow me your ears
To listen to the stories of fears
Of hoodwink and disappointment
Borrow me your ears
I will fumed them with stories
Of failed systems and state
Borrow me your ears
For the tale of spurious pretence,
Of unjust leaders and insincere followers
Borrow me your ears
I will narrate to you;
The deception of men and betrayal of women
Borrow me your ears
I will tell you about
The injustice of elders and disrespect of young ones
Borrow me your ears
I will inform you about
Manoeuvring of religion for personal interest
Borrow me your ears
I will tell you stories
Of love before marriage and hatred after it
Borrow me your ears
I will give you account
Of the uncertainties of life
Borrow me your ears
I will keep you informed
Of political jingoism and bureaucratic sadism
Borrow me your ears
I will tell you the tales
Of religion bigotry and ethnic chauvinism
Borrow me your ears
I will narrate to you
The bedside gossip and episodes beyond
Borrow me your ears
For up to date happenings
In this ambiguous place called Earth
