A moment not mortal

One day will make gold fade
Diamonds won't wax but wane
Mem'ries will breathe their last
Sure as time comes and pass

That day roses'll wither
Lovers gone forever
Answers will hide or fly
From the questions why

That day sky'll flow away
Tomorrow'll stow away
The mountains'll walk away
Away from yesterday

There are times and seasons
Without rhyme or reason
When a good taste will change
And make old friends act strange

Upon tomorrow's face
There is a spending grace
The farther the nearer
The nearer to over

For life comes in sizes
And clouds f' of surprises
Today a blue moon glows
The next in the wind blow

I pray that today last
But let forever pass
A moment not mortal
'Sworth many tomorrow

An Ode to William Shakespeare

When I, surrounded by philistines' gaze,
Dwell on the poesy thine hand did make,
I do find behind the ink of thy phrase
A solace that keeps thy mem'ry awake.
Thou wielded the pen with a savvy hand
And conquered ears of old and the morrow
With poesy from an ethereal land
Which lives and breathes with an evergreen soul.
Poesy is still alive in thy mouth,
Like a bird in a cage waiting to fly,
But thy lips are world away from ears path
And the ink of thine hand have become dry.
Upon thy tomb, place I this inky rose,
Till the Heavens crows to wake sleeping souls.

Heaven's Touch

If I could paint your beauty with the rainbow
I would with each colour, colour each grace:
Blue eyes, purple voice, gold hair, smiles yellow;
Till I spend each colour telling your face.
One to another your colours agree
To make one beauty with many virtues;
One star never made a night sky fairly,
But a constellation uses beauty's hues.
If the Earth is Earth, and Heaven Heaven,
The reason for the divide being beauty,
Then by you, Earth and Heaven is even:
For your beauty bridge the disparity.
But Earth is dust, I judge beauty no such,
Earth is plain clay, beauty is Heaven's touch.

Your Beauty Gives Me A Duty

Your beauty indeed compel me to write
But how can I use little to say much?
Apple of mine eyes, my best is a bite,
A touch, a whit, in all not more than such.
I shan't paint your beauty with the rainbow
Which last a little while and anon fade;
Such short moment won't all your beauties show;
The rainbow can but example your shade.
Would that mine ink makes your beauty fairer,
Much more than the stars does the evening sky
Or that my verse gives you height e'en higher
Than the Sun can rise or eagles can fly.
In this, your sweet beauty am I praising,
And by so, my love am I declaring.
