Clemency

Clemency for me!
Really worthy of it? I don’t think so
After all I have done
You put them all behind you
You once again granted me audience
I felt welcome and accepted
With warming smile, transforming my mind
I can vividly imagine how angels look
I know for sure you are braver than Darling Grace
Though you have a fragile physique,
Titanic is your heart
Very big, strong, impressive
Remain fit as my help meet
It’s you and can never be anyone else
Anyone else? “Mba”
It’s you my true love.

First daysping

I await eagerly the first dayspring
Tenacious to see the breaking of a brand new day
The night full of horrible visions and terrifying dreams
Well up the water reservoir in my body
Seeing images that were never real
Tormenting my desired sweet dream in a paradise unseen
The union of my being commune with the super being
For a quick intervention
Oh, I can feel a different breeze
I think it’s almost time for power change
When the thick darkness will fade out
For the light to finally take over
Afterwards is a great peace.

War Behind the wall

War behind the walls; great wars
Greater than first and second World War
Bloodier than the holocaust
Deadlier than frontier war
Wars within our mind

War behind the walls of the heart
No smoke but so hot
No blood spit but great murdering
No beating but great pains
It’s a war within out heart

Alexander the Great cannot get into the wall
Neither is the great war-lord Adolf Hitler
It takes God alone to break through
The heart of man is desperately wicked
Who can know it?

Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder

Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder
It’s a common saying that is decoded from the look of a man
But of a truth, genuine and true beauty is beyond what the eyes can see
Only the heart can feel it
It glows with such power, even the ‘blind’ will perceive
Regardless of our status, rich or poor
Aboriginal, the language or cultural background
We all can see and perceive this inner beauty with the same view
One advice for my fellow brothers,
Always by pass the look go straight inward
And from the inward, outward appearance can be well appreciated
And advice for everyone
As you take time to make up the physical beauty
Create more time to nurture the inner one
For when you are inwardly ugly
The outward projection is nothing but a fake

In my dreams

In my dream
I saw our glory like that of the rising sun
Our lives beautiful like diamond
Back up with covenant like rainbow
I saw our future sure like a brand new day
In my dream, I saw in your smiling little face, love.

What you want

Make me what you want
Turn around to the best you have me for
Let me be your intent at the origin
Let me be the revealer of your glory
Let me be your genuine representative even in this city that I am.

Oh Methuselah

Oh Methuselah, here you are again
With Methuselah in your hand held tight to your chest
Yesterday you were wheeled down to your abode down the ghetto
By some good fellows walking by
After soaking yourself in an ocean of gin
Oh Methuselah, it’s not too late to repent
Deny Methuselah today and live a purposeful life tomorrow
Methuselah, aren’t you aware you are to live long
But have chosen to live a shortened life
Let that bottle full of wine go, let Methuselah go
And take control of your life once again

Set me free

I came to you because I love you
I stretched my arm of friendship and you warmly welcomed me
And since that day, my life had undergone a metamorphic change
Renewed for the future with a focus of unwavering concentration
I gave you all I had for that moment
I told you all I ever knew and been through
I was committed to the friendship because I believed in you
Always saw you as some kind of heavenly angel on earthly assignment
But along the way I found out I was alone
Though I could find your body around
But your spirit and soul were far gone away
I knew I was caged because I had abandoned myself to love
I needed someone to set me free
Who would set me free? For I was drawn in the ocean of love
I had withdrawn every other thing except my heart of love
It kept longing for you, more, more and more
Who would set me free? Set me free.

Always a champion

I was born into a whole wide world
With feeble limbs and simple mind
At entrance, I could feel the heat
Suggesting another world different from where I came from
Opening my eyes, I could see the faces of warriors
With hands to battle though with smiling faces
I could feel a great burden on me
I knew it was time to face my destiny
It kept ringing on my mind you are a champion, born to win
With my guardians, I began to learn
Took a step, one after the other
When I fell, I rose to walk, limp or do both
Muttered what I have to say hoping to communicate
I began to advance in height and knowledge
With great sensitivity to my environment
I felt love and hatred, brutality and friendship
I heard lies and deception, sincerity and truth
I saw light and darkness, day and night
I learnt the right from wrong but found it difficult to do the right
Because the system was stuffed with evil
Since the nature could not accommodate vacancy
I chose the right because I knew my destiny
I chose to profess the truth despite the challenges faced
The opposition was great that I had to remind myself of my destiny
Born to war, destiny to conquer and win
Always a champion stamped from above

DEMOCRACY, NIGERIA

It’s been ages you passed into deep slumber
Or rather you were long dead, democracy
You have striven to rise but fall many times
Your limbs were over-powered by some political demons
You have been crushed in the dust by some powerful beasts
The people with green skinned body, white spirit and green soul
Are eager to see you come alive again and take your full course
Take control to the fullness your place in their leadership
They know the time has come and now is the hour
For revolution and revival in the political arena
They cry, sing, shout, talk, pray, hope and believe
Equal importantly, they are ready to work, support, and vote
To see the emergence of a new democratic Nigeria
The reality, evidential rebirth of democracy in a new Nigeria
